JACKSONVILLE, FL – Elkins Constructors, Inc. recently promoted David W. Hamilton to Executive Vice President.
Hamilton joined Elkins Constructors in 1989 after receiving his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. During his 23-year career with the company, Hamilton has been involved with every aspect of project management, from on-site field engineering to project development to the project executive role as vice president overseeing the company’s commercial market. He completed a master’s degree in business administration at Jacksonville University’s Davis College of Business in 2002.
As executive vice president, Hamilton is responsible for all operations and business development in our Georgia Market including offices in Atlanta and Savannah. In that role he also monitors all of our Federal Market and is responsible for field supervision company wide. He is also an officer of the company and a shareholder, sitting on Elkins Constructors board of directors.
In his career, Hamilton has had oversight of some of Elkins Constructors most high profile construction projects, including the Alfred I. duPont Testamentary Trust and Ringpower Corporate Headquarters.
Prior to obtaining his civil engineering degree, David received bachelor’s degrees in business administration and mathematics from Milligan College in Johnson City, Tennessee. He is involved in the community through St. Johns County Education Foundation Board of Directors, past chairman of the Florida’s First Coast Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, past chairman of Associated Builders and Contractors’ state board of directors, Pinecastle Board of Directors, chairman of the Milligan College Board of Trustees, and the St. Johns County Economic Development Commission.
Hamilton and his wife, Denise, have two college-aged children, Michael and Lauren who are both currently attending the University of North Florida.
