The new 127,000 SF school will replace the existing Pinevale Learning Center and will house students in grades K-5. The two-story project will be built in two phases, to allow students to continue attending classes the existing facility while construction progresses.

The project architect is Altman + Barrett Architects of Valdosta. The school is scheduled to be open for start of the 2013-2014 school year.

The 24,592 SF Gamble Hall was built in 1965 as one of the original core buildings on the campus. The focus of the project will be to bring the building into full code compliance, upgrade the building systems and modernize the interior. Renovations will address life safety code compliance and ADA compliance upgrades. Mechanical and roofing systems will also be replaced.

The project architect is Hussey, Gay, Bell & DeYoung of Savannah. The project is expected to be complete by March 2013.

Mr. Rampley will be in charge of managing and increasing Elkins Constructors’ market share in Georgia. He will also manage the company’s Atlanta office.

A native of Atlanta, he is a 1989 Graduate of Georgia Tech where he earned a degree in Industrial Management. A former quarterback, he led the Yellow Jackets to 17-14 comeback victory over Michigan State in the 1986 All American Bowl.

Rampley has 23 years of construction related experience as a Project Manager, Senior Sales Executive and Business Development Manager. He has extensive experience working in both the Healthcare and the Public Institution marketplace in Georgia and throughout the Southeast.

Rampley resides in Johns Creek, GA, with his wife, Amy, and his sons, Jack and Hayes.

The groundbreaking marks a significant event for CAT. It ushers in the realization of a project that has been 15 years in the making, according to CAT officials.

Located at the Greyhound Bus Station on W. Oglethorpe Avenue, the ITF will house both CAT’s Executive Office and Greyhound Operations.

Designed by Cogdell & Mendrala Architects and Wendel Duchscherer Architects & Engineers, the 12,000 SF project includes renovation of the existing Greyhound Bus Station and an addition of transfer canopies for the new intermodal operation. The transfer canopies and resulting platform will hold 14 bays for buses and one location for steel-wheel streetcars. The $9.1 million project will be designed and constructed to meet U.S. Green Building Council, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Certification standards. This will be Elkins Constructors’ third LEED Gold Certified building.

Hamilton joined Elkins Constructors in 1989 after receiving his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. During his 23-year career with the company, Hamilton has been involved with every aspect of project management, from on-site field engineering to project development to the project executive role as vice president overseeing the company’s commercial market. He completed a master’s degree in business administration at Jacksonville University’s Davis College of Business in 2002.

As executive vice president, Hamilton is responsible for all operations and business development in our Georgia Market including offices in Atlanta and Savannah. In that role he also monitors all of our Federal Market and is responsible for field supervision company wide. He is also an officer of the company and a shareholder, sitting on Elkins Constructors board of directors.

In his career, Hamilton has had oversight of some of Elkins Constructors most high profile construction projects, including the Alfred I. duPont Testamentary Trust and Ringpower Corporate Headquarters.

Prior to obtaining his civil engineering degree, David received bachelor’s degrees in business administration and mathematics from Milligan College in Johnson City, Tennessee. He is involved in the community through St. Johns County Education Foundation Board of Directors, past chairman of the Florida’s First Coast Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, past chairman of Associated Builders and Contractors’ state board of directors, Pinecastle Board of Directors, chairman of the Milligan College Board of Trustees, and the St. Johns County Economic Development Commission.

Hamilton and his wife, Denise, have two college-aged children, Michael and Lauren who are both currently attending the University of North Florida.

The $3.15 Million addition will be two stories and occupy 15,000 SF. The building will have classrooms, labs, and offices and should be completed by June 2012. The architect is Stanley Beaman & Sears, Inc. of Atlanta.

This is Elkins’ second project for the BOR and VSU. The company just completed a $5.6 million Psychology Building for the University.
